Shankar Electronics Ltd.’s primary aim is to maintain its position in the field of air conditioning and audio visual equipment and TV systems for both domestic and commercial customers.

Shankar Electronics Ltd. (Shankar) was established in Kenya in 1970 as an electronics and household appliances dealer. From its humble beginning Shankar established itself in the field as the leading retailer with a proven track record of providing after sales service. Shankar offers a diverse range of services from retail and domestic services, to commercial and industrial projects.

Shankar’s Journey

Yr 1972

1972 Successfully installed the first piped music system for Hotels at Reef Hotel and Severin Sea Lodge.

Yr 1977

1977 Successfully installed the first MATV System in Kenya at Leisure Lodge Club, Diani.

Yr 1986

1986 Launched the rental and lease of air conditioners to the hotel industry, Alliance Hotels, Diani.

Yr 2004

Successfully installed the largest chilled water central air conditioning system from AERMEC (Italy) in Kilifi at the Kemri / Welcome Trust Research Laboratories. Also installed Audio Visual Equipment for the Seminar Rooms.

Yr 2009

2009 Established associate company, Shankar Electronics in Kigali, Rwanda. Installed GENERAL Airstage VRF multi air conditioning system as well as the TV, music, audio visual and Fire Alarm System at Serena Kigali Hotel. Rwanda. Installed GENERAL Airstage VRF multi air conditioning system for first call Centre in Nairobi, Horizon Contact Centre.

Yr 2011

2011 Launched SAMSUNG Brand Shop and Customer Care Centre in Mombasa. Signed contract for air-conditioning and ventilation installation for most prestigious new development English Point Marina, Mombasa, the largest SAMSUNG DVM System Air Conditioning in Africa.

Yr 2013

2013 Appointed as Multichoice (K) Ltd. Super Dealer for Mombasa, South Coast, Voi and Taita Taveta for distribution of Multichoice products including DSTV, GoTV, DSTV Mobile, and GoTV Mobile to dealers within the region. Signed Contract for the supply and installation of kitchen solution equipment for One West Park, Nairobi.

Yr 2014

2014 Signed Contract for the supply and installation of Samsung DVM System AC for Hotel Ihusi in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. Appointed LG Electronics Preferred Dealer for System/Commercial Air Conditioners for distribution, sales, installation and service in Kenya.
